LP
Gas Conversion
There
are two types of gas conversion kits available, the first is
called Conventional and the second is called Sequential Vapour
Injections (SVI).
Conventional:
These
kits are for the introductory level gas system and is designed
to suit pre 2004 makes and models of vehicles using carburetters
and basic EFI engines. This system delivers gas into the
vehicles intake system between the air filter and inlet
manifold. These LP Gas systems are a cost effective gas delivery
system.
Sequential
Vapour Injections (SVI):
These
are the premium kits designed to suit late model standard and
performance vehicles. The Sequential Vapour Injections system is
the most reliable, economical and delivers the most performance
of all gas systems on the market. The SVI system has its own
injector installed per cylinder, this is located close to the
inlet valve and is monitored by its own computer to control the
gas delivery under various engine demands.
Advantages
of SVI compared to conventional LP Gas systems
Improved
fuel economy
More
power
Better
cold running - the engine will automatically change over to gas
when the engine warms up
All-in-one
push button LP Gas gauge. One button to change from petrol to
gas and back
Drives
gas valves and petrol injectors directly so there are no
separate relays
No
damaging engine backfires - gas is injected very close to each
inlet valve, which reduces gas volume in inlet manifold to
virtually eliminate backfires
Safer
as the gas is automatically shut-off if engine stalls
Automatic
change back to petrol operation when gas runs out, alarming to
let you know it has changed back to petrol.
Extras
We Strongly Recommend
We
recommend the installation of a Flash Lube upper cylinder
lubrication kit. This will deliver a small amount of oil into
the intake manifold to lubricate the valves as LP Gas is a very
dry fuel compared to petrol which is a oil based fuel. We also
recommend the fitment of LP Gas spark plugs that are one heat
range colder than standard to compensate for the increased heat
from the LP Gas.
Pricing
All
vehicles require quoting on as no two vehicles are the same due
to customer requirements, tank size, fitment and any
modifications that may already be made to the vehicle. Please
call us on 07 5524 3411 for a quote on your vehicle.
Australian
Government Grant
Currently
there is a grant available from the Federal Government for the
installation of a gas to new and old privately owned passenger
and light commercial vehicles less than 3.5 Gross Vehicle Mass.
From
July 1, 2010 a grant of $1,500 will be paid following the LPG
conversion of a new or used petrol or diesel motor vehicle.
From
July 1, 2010 a grant of $2,000 will be paid following the
purchase of a new motor vehicle with an LPG unit fitted prior
to first registration of the vehicle.
