Pink & Blue Slip Inspections

Pink slips are the roadworthy certification most NSW drivers are familiar with. You usually require a pink slip certification before your next registration period. Pink slip certification ensures your vehicle is safe for use on public roads.

Once you’ve obtained a pink slip certificate, you’ll have 42 days to get your car registered again. Pink slip certification is charged at a fixed price and can usually be done in half an hour. It includes a road test and an inspection of brakes, suspension, tyres and safety equipment.

Blue slips, on the other hand, are necessary when a used vehicle is currently unregistered in New South Wales, which also includes new residents coming from interstate.
