The Importance of a Roadworthy Inspection:

The penalties of a roadworthy, which includes fines, demerit points and more, aren’t worth it when you consider the low price of roadworthy certification. Roadworthy certificates take half an hour to obtain, are set at a small fixed price, and give you the peace of mind that your vehicle is safe for you and your family.

While conducting the inspection, we might find other items that require attention outside of the scope of the roadworthy, which can help you financially prepare for your next service. Likewise, we can bundle up a roadworthy inspection with your next service.

Pink and Blue Slip Inspections:

Pink slips are the roadworthy certification most NSW drivers are familiar with. You usually require a pink slip certification before your next registration period. Pink slip certification ensures your vehicle is safe for use on public roads.

Once you’ve obtained a pink slip certificate, you’ll have 42 days to get your car registered again. Pink slip certification is charged at a fixed price and can usually be done in half an hour. It includes a road test and an inspection of brakes, suspension, tyres and safety equipment.

Blue slips, on the other hand, are necessary when a used vehicle is currently unregistered in New South Wales, which also includes new residents coming from interstate.

If you’ve just moved into New South Wales from Queensland, it’s important that you get this done as soon as possible as you can be subjected to fines and even plate confiscation. Just like pink slips, you have 42 days from the date of inspection to get your vehicle registered.

The inspections for pink and blue slips are largely the same, but it’s important to remember that all vehicles unregistered in New South Wales must obtain a blue slip if you intend to garage it in New South Wales and drive on public roads. Larger trailers (over 251kg) and caravans (over 411kg) also require a pink slip safety inspection.
